This years Forest Showcase Food & Drink Festival promises to be bigger than ever before with lots of new ways that people can get involved.

“We are holding two competitions this year that people can participate in” said festival organiser Amanda Smith. “one is to design a new beer that will be launched at the festival, the second is a cookery competition”

The first one is aimed at any budding brewers in the area

The ‘Design a Beer’ competition is open to any amateur home brewers and beer lovers
and is organised in partnership with Bespoke Brewery from Mitcheldean.
We want budding brewers to research and create a brand new recipe. This can be as simple as the hops, malts and any flavours you want to add to create a brand new beer.
The winning person will be invited in to participate in a brew day with Head Brewer Steve Williams, who will go through the whole brewing process and where the new beer will be brewed. The new beer will have its official launch at this years Forest Showcase festival.

There will also be a chance to design the pump clip to go along with the beer, this competition will be launched at the festival where you will be able to try the new beer!

For the first time we have also decided to hold a Cookery competition open to everyone.
We hope it will be a huge hit with cooks, members of their families and their lucky friends as they begin practising & tasting ready for the big day!
We’re thinking something to impress using any Fruits of the Forest, it can be any nuts or berries, wow us with your very best creation, Make it a real show stopper,
Be as inventive & original as you like, we can’t wait to see them!
We are asking anyone who would like to enter to fill out an entry form on the website & bring along their pudding to the event.
All entries must be submitted by 1pm and the competition will be judged in the cookery theatre at 1.30pm This competition is free to enter & anyone entering the competition will get free entry to the event.

This is just for fun, but there is a unique opportunity to win a Forest Showcase rosette along with a Forest Showcase apron & a meal for two!
